Cape Town Flower Show 2016
When Cape Contours was invited to participate in the inaugural Cape Town Flower Show, we leapt at the chance. This garden was designed to showcase the plight of our natural water shortages, while presenting a landscape solution that is both contemporary and naturalistic. A ‘waterfall’ of succulents cascading into a dry riverbed, stones flowing like water; tensile steel cabling evoking the sense of rain; and a soft wash of savannah grassland planting.
Suggestive of water, yet highlighting its absence, these elements combine stylishly with reclaimed and eco-friendly materials to reflect a modern lifestyle adapted to reducing our dependence on our most precious resource, all the while celebrating Sub-Saharan Africa’s natural beauty.
